Primary Areas of Practice and Philosophy

My primary areas of practice include family law and estate planning.  I often say that I would not wish a divorce or custody battle on my own worst enemy.  Legal actions involving the family, whether child-related or financial, are rooted in strong emotions.  I strive to provide my clients with the knowledge and common sense necessary to make the right choices when facing difficult issues in difficult times.

Personal History

I grew up in Greendale, Wisconsin where I graduated high school in 1988.  While in the Milwaukee area, Greendale was still a small “bubble” community where everyone knew what everyone was doing.  It was there, with the help of my parents, family, and friends, that I learned the values of hard work, dedication, trustworthiness, teamwork and the importance of my faith life and the need to help others.

After high school, I attended Ripon College where I was fortunate enough to not only obtain a great liberal arts education, but also to have the opportunity to play NCAA Division III tennis, winning conference championships all four years.  Ripon College was another small community which provided me with a venue to grow personally and academically.  I had the opportunity to spend a semester in Washington, D.C., where I studied public law and interned at the White House in the Counsel’s Office to the President.  My experiences through Ripon College consistently challenged me to do my best and strive for nothing short of success.

Following my graduation from Ripon College, I attended law school at the University of Wisconsin where I was provided with a solid foundation in law.  I was able to intern at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and clerk at law firms in both Madison and Appleton, Wisconsin.

When it was time to actually practice law, I was looking to return to a small community.  I was fortunate to begin practicing law in Tomah.  After several years with the firm, I am now a full partner.  It has been a privilege to work with attorneys who are equally dedicated to providing quality and trustworthy legal representation to clients.

I am blessed with two beautiful children, Jake and Kate, whom I adore.
